Your accommodation at the Royal Hotel

Many of the front-facing, 'castle-view' guest bedrooms (such as the Matheson Room, above) retain important architectural details, conserved during a sensitive and ongoing programme of refurbishment.  

Modern levels of comfort and features have been added in these rooms, such as flat screen digital TVs with the full range of Freeview channels, free wireless broadband access throughout the hotel and ensuite showers with quality fittings. 

You are welcome to request one of these rooms when booking, which may be reserved at no extra charge, subject to availability.

All rooms are within range of  the hotel's free wireless broadband ('wi-fi') provision.   A comprehensive room service menu is available between 5.00 pm and 9.00pm - so you can watch a favourite TV show or catch up on work without missing dinner.   A tea/coffee making tray is provided in all rooms.

Rear facing rooms don't have the same level of period features but are comfortable and a little quieter than those facing the street at the front - though this small  town is rarely noisy!  A number of these rooms still have baths, rather than showers, so please ask if this is your preference.
